…During the recent SDDC Symposium and Personal Property Forum (PPF), there was a lot of discussion about the upcoming peak season. While much of it centered on what has or hasn’t been done to alleviate the problems from last season, there was one area of discussion that could alleviate some of the peak season problems.

Earlier this month, SDDC held the Personal Property Forum (PPF) in O’Fallon, Illinois to discuss items of interest to TSPs and the Military Services. The format was similar to the last PPF held in that there was an effort to keep the focus on larger, more general issues, instead of specific day-to-day issue. April 1st was set to be an important milestone in the increased use of DPS. The addition of the PPM capability promised to increase the usage of DPS substantially, giving it the capability to handle approximately 70% of current shipment types.  This important update was installed into the DPS system as scheduled, however the PPM capability is not yet being utilized by the services.
