SDDC Offers Update on Program Efficiency Review , Seeks Industry Feedback

Article Discusses Capacity, Costs, and Outsourcing

In a wide ranging article entitled “DOD Says Outsourcing Its Freight Management Has Produced a Drop In Transportation Costs”, the Transport Topics newspaper covered a number of items of interest to participants in the DOD personal property program. SDDC Publishes DP3 Newsletter

In the early days of the CWA system, SDDC used to publish a CWA News U Can Use newsletter. It appears that this communication is being revived with the publication of the DP3 News U Can Use September 2010 Newsletter. It contains articles on Phase III, Special Solicitations, Diversions, iUB Overflows, as well as some invoicing and CSS metrics.

SDDC Releases New Invoicing Tools

As part of the process of asserting ownership over the 400NG Tariff, SDDC has published a number of items that used to be provided by American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), before the Surface Transportation Board ruling that prevented them from maintaining the tariff. The first step was the release of the baseline rates for the 400NG… in January, and recently they added a couple of other tools used in the invoicing process.

Latest WAR Report Highlights DPS Growth and Growing Pains

In the most recent DP3/DPS WAR report covering May1st-7th, there were many items indicating the increased volume of shipments in DPS:

DP3 Phase III Draft Business Rules & Solicitations Posted

Last Friday afternoon, SDDC posted drafts of the DP3 Phase III Business Rules and Solicitations… on their website. These documents have been highly anticipated by TSPs who are eager to see how the government plans to handle the final implementation piece of the DP3 program, covering Non-Temp Storage (NTS) and Direct Procurement Moves (DPM).
