In today’s Federal Register, USTRANSCOM  released the responses to the comments received on the DP3 Phase III Business Rules. As a reminder, these business rules were released in the spring of 2010, and cover Non-Temporary Storage and the new dS2 (Domestic Small Shipments) moves.

In another effort to maximize the full industry capacity during this busy peak season, SDDC has expanded on some earlier changes to the business rules for a limited time. Earlier this week, they released a message… (pdf link) announcing that TSPs will be able to refuse an unlimited number of shipments from now until July 31, 2011.
The DP3 business rules require a TSP to accept every shipment offered, or risk a 30 day suspension. The previous change allowed TSPs

…During the recent SDDC Symposium and Personal Property Forum (PPF), there was a lot of discussion about the upcoming peak season. While much of it centered on what has or hasn’t been done to alleviate the problems from last season, there was one area of discussion that could alleviate some of the peak season problems.

During this week’s AMSA Annual Conference’s Military Summit, Lt. Col. There has been considerable discussion  about the causes of peak season problems this summer, and most agree that there are many factors that have come into play to cause these issues. One factor that has been mentioned is the DPS distribution model, and a recent phone call we received from a TSP offered an excellent example of how the DPS distribution model can contribute to the peak season problems.
