Yesterday it was our turn to deal with the overflowing Elkhorn River. Since our office is located less than half a mile from river, at the point which appeared to be most vulnerable, we were watching the events fairly closely. Early in the day, it did not…

PPSO Newsletter Published

PPSO Newsletter Published

One common complaint of the TSP industry with SDDC is that information given from SDDC to the PPSOs is not shared with TSPs. At times, this has complicated communication, for example when a PPSO says they are basing a decision on a directive from SDDC, and the TSP has not had the chance to see the document which gave this directive. At various industry meetings with SDDC, many requests have been made to share these types of communications, usually without much…

Front Load Washing Machine Compensation Decision Criticized

The decision of the government to eliminate compensation for third party servicing of front load washing machines has certainly sparked a lot of discussion. SDDC Releases New Invoicing Tools

As part of the process of asserting ownership over the 400NG Tariff, SDDC has published a number of items that used to be provided by American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), before the Surface Transportation Board ruling that prevented them from maintaining the tariff. Three Year Statute of Limitations Confirmed

Last fall, a Civilian Board of Contract Appeals(CBCA) ruling confirmed that GSA had a three year statute of limitation in which to issue Notices of Overcharge (NOC) on shipments, overruling GSA’s contention that they had up to ten years in which to issues overcharges. The case in question (CBCA 1317-RATE) involved overcharges against Union Pacific Railroad, but the decision affects personal property shipments as well, since the laws governing this topic cover all transportation payments.
This ruling is important because…

DPS Problems Couldn’t Come at a Worse Time

DPS Problems Couldn’t Come at a Worse Time

“If DPS volume increases significantly, there will be much interest in seeing how DPS handles the increased load. JPMO-HHGS representatives seem fairly confident that the work they have done the last six months beefing up the capacity of the system will enable DPS to handle the upcoming increase. “

That is a section of our blog posting from March 18th discussing the ramp up of DPS shipments. Well, almost exactly two months later, it is safe to…

Latest WAR Report Highlights DPS Growth and Growing Pains

In the most recent DP3/DPS WAR report covering May1st-7th, there were many items indicating the increased volume of shipments in DPS:

  • Another big week for DP3/DPS…now 65% in the system, and USCG hit 81% on almost 1,000 moves!  We know this increase in volume has come at a cost as we continue to improve the system and our people get trained and familiar with DPS.  Thanks for all the good work. (from  Executive Summary by Col. Miller)
