The price of fuel was $2.92 per gallon as reported on Monday, July 5, 2010 making the upcoming FSC rates for the period 7/15/10 through 8/14/10 as follows:

GBL Domestic HHG / International HHG & UB – 5%
GSA Domestic HHG – $0.42
GSA International HHG and BAG – $0.42

Each week, JPMO-HHGS provides a Weekly Activity Report (aka WAR report) to the Services and DPS TSP user group. One of the prominant statistics tracked in this WAR report is the percentage of shipments that are booked in DPS vs. TOPS. We have gone back and reviewed  the WAR reports since PPM was implemented in DPS, and have compiled this chart showing the percentages of shipments booked in DPS each week (note: No percentage was given for the week ending 5/28/10):

We blogged earlier about the retirement of EDI invoicing through DFAS-Indianapolis.   In that blog we noted that all invoices payable by DFAS-Indy should now be submitted manually via paper for payment.   We have received several inquiries regarding this change and would like to pass along a few tips for carriers to use when submitting their paper invoices for payment:

• Always provide original documentation to support the charges being billed, including a rated GBL.

About a year ago, we stumbled across the Federal IT Dashboard, which outlines the costs of federal government IT projects, including the Defense Personal Property System (DPS). Last year’s numbers indicated that the Department of Defense had spent nearly $30 million in 2008, and was planning on spending around $20 million in 2009 and 2010. Last week, we sent an EDI file to DFAS-Indianapolis for the last time . Due to the increased use of USBank Payment Systems (formerly PowerTrack), fewer and fewer invoices were submitted to DFAS for electronic payment. Therefore they made the decision to shut down their DTRS system, which enables their EDI processing.
