DP3: One of the 'P's Stands for 'Paper'

‘Defense Personal Property Program will create a single, paperless Joint Personal Property Program that integrates and automates all processes that support a personal property move.’ – SDDC DP3 Pamplet ‘Moving in the Right Direction’

This quote from an early SDDC DP3 brochure demonstrates that one of the goals of the new program was to create a paperless system. While this was certainly a noble goal, and one that many TSPs would support, the results from the first year of DP3…

PPSOs were apparently instructed to no longer book Alaska shipments in DPS, but we still see a trickle of Alaska invoices through our office, either due to shipments previously booked, or PPSOs not aware of…

DPS EDI Notification

The following DPS EDI related notice was recently sent out to TSPs:

There has been some confusion concerning the N4 requirements, depending upon whether the shipment involved CONUS or OCONUS locations. The DPS requirements are dependent upon the applicable tariff and system being used. Attached is a spreadsheet which identifies the mandatory location

Slow DPS Data Updates = Slow Invoice Payments

One of the largest obstacles we currently face in DPS invoicing occurs when there is incorrect data in the DPS system that needs to be changed before an invoice can be successfully submitted. We most often see this with date elements, such as pickup dates and deliver from SIT dates. Incorrect information in these fields will cause valid invoices to be rejected. Also, if weight data is incorrect, the invoice will fail validation, making it impossible for the PPSO to…

  • Col Miller, the new Program Manager for JPMO-HHGS, emphasized that his desire was to be milestone driven when it comes to DPS implementation, instead of schedule driven. He stated that meant to implement parts of DPS as they were ready, as
