Our recent post about the reactions to the peak season issues… has drawn some interest, and we wanted to share a few of the comments we have received about the article.
John Johnson, Chief of Personal Property Branch at SDDC, contacted us to make a couple of points about the peak season problems. Since the article outlined a couple of the Services’ theories about the cause of the problems, John wanted to share his thoughts on that question from SDDC’s

The Daycos office will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day. Our normal office hours will resume at 8:00am CST on Tuesday, July 6th.

Throughout the year, the company takes all of our employees out for various lunch outings. A wide array of activities are planned, as we go out to different restaurants here in Norfolk for lunch and then do some sort of activity or have a company meeting. These usually last for a couple of hours – and is a nice change of pace for all of our employees to get out of the office for a while, get to know all…

At the end of March we made the transition to two new HIGH speed scanners. Previously we had been using 5 desktop scanners to handle the load of scanning all the documents that were being sent to us to be scanned and made available on our website. This setup took up a very large chunk of office space and was also slow and hard to maintain.

Some of the new things these scanners allow us to do:

In light of the snowstorm that has swept parts of the midwest, we will not be opening the office today until noon central time… to allow our employees to scoop out from their homes and to allow time for the drifted roads to be cleared of snow. The Norfolk area has received approximately 20 inches of snow since Sunday evening.
As mentioned in yesterdays blog, we will make every attempt to get all billing invoices completed in a timely manner,

Mother Nature has graciously welcomed us into the first day of spring with a Nebraska snowstorm. Due to inclement weather conditions, we will be closing the office today at noon central time….
