NTS Interim Billing Business Rules Released

As we mentioned previously, the non-temp storage (NTS) billing process is getting some much needed improvements. NTS invoices will soon be paid electronically by the US Bank payment system, which should reduce payment times considerably.

DFAS Changes Customer Service Email Address

We recently received an email from the DFAS-Indianapolis Transportation Payment Office advising of a change to their customer service email address. The previous customer service email address, Dtp.customer.service.dfas-in@dfas.mil, will be deactivated and is being replaced by the new email address for the payment office, DTPCustomerService@DFAS.MIL. Will SDDC Bring Back SIT Saturation Notices?

Earlier this week, we wrote about a policy changes under consideration that would aid peak season capacity, the suspension of the 70% rule. Another change that has been discussed is the possibility of SDDC issuing SIT saturation notices this summer, in order to allow TSPs to bill delivery out of SIT from actual storage location.

SDDC Considers Adjustment to 70% Rule for Peak Season

During the recent SDDC Symposium and Personal Property Forum (PPF), there was a lot of discussion about the upcoming peak season. While much of it centered on what has or hasn’t been done to alleviate the problems from last season, there was one area of discussion that could alleviate some of the peak season problems.

Local Moves Eliminated in Phase 3

USTRANSCOM recently posted a Federal Register Notice announcing their intent to eliminate local moves when Phase 3 of the DP3 program is implemented. The Domestic and International Local Move Tenders, as well as the Intra-Country Move Tender would be eliminated under the proposed changes. The Domestic moves will be absorbed into the current Domestic Household Goods market, and moved as Code D shipments under the 400NG tariff. JPMO-HHGS Report Discusses DPS System Problems

As you might expect given the recent DPS system issues, JPMO-HHGS’ March Monthly Activity Report (formerly known as the WAR report) contained numerous references to the system’s problems and downtime. Army Claims Starts Offset Process

The much discussed implementation of offsets in the US Bank Payment system has begun, albeit in a small way. According to Cheryl Garcia from US Bank, the Army Claims office initiated a test of the new offset process, by initiating three separate offsets. US Bank and the Army are closely monitoring these three offsets, and if the offset functionality works as intended, TSPs can expect that the Army will move ahead with full implementation of offset on all outstanding TSP
