Three Year Statute of Limitations Confirmed

Last fall, a Civilian Board of Contract Appeals(CBCA) ruling confirmed that GSA had a three year statute of limitation in which to issue Notices of Overcharge (NOC) on shipments, overruling GSA’s contention that they had up to ten years in which to issues overcharges. The case in question (CBCA 1317-RATE) involved overcharges against Union Pacific Railroad, but the decision affects personal property shipments as well, since the laws governing this topic cover all transportation payments.

Latest WAR Report Highlights DPS Growth and Growing Pains

In the most recent DP3/DPS WAR report covering May1st-7th, there were many items indicating the increased volume of shipments in DPS:

The price of fuel was $3.12 per gallon as reported on Monday, May 3, 2010 making the upcoming FSC rates for the period 5/15/10 through 6/14/10 as follows:

GBL Domestic HHG / International HHG & UB – 7%
GSA Domestic HHG – $0.62

Tariff Updates for DS10

Our billing program and AccuBill have recently been updated with the DS10 changes found in the D-18 Solicitation that went into effect for Domestic shipments with pickup dates of 5/1/10 and after.
The changes are as follows:

DOM – new tariff updates (D-18)
1.  Updated SIT first day and Warehouse Handling Rates for all States – Item 400 listing of all States, Counties, Rates, etc.
2.  Incorporated the following Regionalization consolidations:
a. Georgia – Transferred responsibility of CFAK to CHAT

Clayton Andrews Celebrates 90th Birthday

One of the best things about being located in Norfolk, Nebraska  is that we get to work closely with the wonderful people at Andrews Van Lines. Over the years, we have developed a great relationship with all the Andrews staff, and occasionally have the opportunity to share some of their celebrations with them.
