Why You Should Be a “Fan” of Daycos

In the past month, Daycos has expanded our communication efforts into some new areas in the “social media” sector. One of those areas was the creation of a Fan Page on Facebook.  We wanted to take this opportunity to explain why we have chosen to create a Facebook page, and why you should consider becoming a fan of the Daycos page so that you can interact with our Facebook updates.

We realize that many businesses are rushing to create Facebook pages, often without a compelling reason other than they want to be “on Facebook.” We have resisted that urge, because we didn’t see a useful purpose to create that page until recently.

Through this blog and our monthly newsletter, we have always tried to provide a variety of content, including some industry news, company news, and sometimes information about our employees and company outings and events. When we would get feedback on our blog and newsletter, we would often hear how they found a lot of the information very useful, but what they really enjoyed reading was the articles about our employees and company events and activities.

We interact with our TSP customers and government representatives every day, but usually it is through email or the occasional phone call. We realized that one of the reasons our customers enjoyed our blog posts about our employees and company events is that it allowed them to see the personal side of the people they work with, and create a closer relationship with them. It was the equivalent of chatting in the break room about what everybody did that weekend.

So as we thought how we could increase that type of communication with our customers, it became obvious that Facebook was an obvious solution. It is the ideal setup for the casual, quick communication that will enable us to share more about our employees and their activities. While most of our communication is handled by our management team, our Facebook page is administered by our employees, and they are able to easily and quickly post updates about what is going on with their Daycos co-workers. If you are looking for the latest information about invoicing issues or the latest DPS change, you won’t find that on Facebook. It will be focused on sharing the personal side of Daycos so that we can continue to build on our close working relationship with our customers.

So we would encourage you to become a fan of Daycos at http://www.facebook.com/daycos if you are interested in learning more about the great people we have working for you every day at Daycos. We would also encourage you to share this with some of co-workers that may not monitor this blog regularly, but may be interested in learning more about the people they work with every day at Daycos. We also encourage you to join in the discussion and comment on the items posted on our Facebook page, so that it can become a two-way conversation.
