SDDC Publishes 400NG Baseline Rates

This week SDDC posted the 400NG baseline rates that are effective January 1st, 2010. Previously, these rates have been provided by AMSA, which previously owned the 400NG tariff. However, in light of the decision last year by the Surface Transportation Board to remove antitrust immunity, AMSA is no longer claiming ownership of the tariff. This cleared the way for SDDC to take ownership of the tariff, and this publication is the first step in that process.

The Daycos Christmas Palm Tree

Each year, a small, plastic palm tree with Christmas lights is placed in the front area of the Daycos offices, across the lobby from our big, beautiful, real Christmas tree. While it doesn’t do much for the aesthetics of the office, it is placed there as an important reminder.

A Wild Week…

Last week was certainly an interesting one here in Norfolk. It started with our first major snowstorm of the year, which dumped over 8 inches of snow in the area, combined with 40 mph winds to create very dangerous conditions. Despite the difficult weather, we were able to limit our office closure to a two-hour late start on Wednesday morning, and were able to successfully process all billings we received on-time

Daycos Office Currently Closed

Due to a mandatory evacuation by the Norfolk Police Department, the Daycos office will be closed on Thursday, December 10th, until we are allowed back into the office.
There is a large fire about 6 blocks down the street from our office. A propane tank, holding 30,000 gallons of propane started on fire earlier this morning. All businesses and homes within just over a mile of the fire have been forced to evacuate, due to the contents and fumes that…

Alaska Shipments to Start Moving in DPS

This morning, SDDC notified TSPs and PPSOs that effective today, shipments to and from Alaska can now be booked in DPS. No Alaska shipments had been allowed previously due to problems with the DPS rating engine incorrectly rating the LHS portion of any Alaska shipment.
We did submit a test Alaska invoice to the DPS test system on November 17th, and the invoice was rated correctly by the DPS rating engine. While we would have liked the ability to test…

HTOS and GSA-01 Tariff Updates for 11/1/09

Our billing form and AccuBill have recently been updated to include the following HTOS and GSA-01 tariff updates that were effective 11-01-09 for Department of State invoicing. The changes that were provided to the Industry and updated in our systems are as follows:
