Tariff Updates for IW09

Our billing program and AccuBill have recently been updated with the IW09 changes found in the I-23 Solicitation that went into effect for International shipments with pickup dates of 10/01/09 and after.

The changes are as follows:
INT/BAG – new tariff updates (I-23)
1. Updated rate for Extra Pickup/Delivery Overseas, excluding Alaska and Hawaii to 29.10 was 14.10.
2. Updated rate for excess over 100 Miles Extra Pickup/Delivery to .20 was .10.

The past year has provided many challenges in dealing with the new DPS system. Progress on Alaska?

Since the start of DPS, invoicing Alaska shipments under the 400NG tariff has been problematic. Despite numerous patches, updates, bug fixes, every time we billed an Alaskan invoice in the DPS test or production system, the Linehaul rating was always off by a large amount.
PPSOs were apparently instructed to no longer book Alaska shipments in DPS, but we still see a trickle of Alaska invoices through our office, either due to shipments previously booked, or PPSOs not aware of…

DPS EDI Notification

The following DPS EDI related notice was recently sent out to TSPs:

There has been some confusion concerning the N4 requirements, depending upon whether the shipment involved CONUS or OCONUS locations. The DPS requirements are dependent upon the applicable tariff and system being used. Attached is a spreadsheet which identifies the mandatory location
