DOS Follow-up Fee Decreased
In June 2006, Department of State (DOS) set forth a requirement that all DOS carriers must begin invoicing through PowerTrack (PT). At that time, we began offering a DOS follow-up service for our billing customers at the rate of $20.00 per invoice. The follow-up service initially included a lot of manual labor on behalf of our staff, such as manual invoice data entry into PT, reviewing invoices individually for delivery notice and invoice updates, working through discrepancies with DOS personnel, and locating status updates.
We have been working hard to enhance the follow-up service that we provide. Fortunately, we have made tremendous strides using technology to become more efficient. We have been able to implement EDI invoice submission for the majority of DOS invoices submitted to PT. PowerTrack has also assisted in setting up reporting that we can generate to update the status of all invoices daily. This allows us to locate problem invoices and address the issues sooner.
When we began offering the DOS follow-up service, we acknowledged that our prices were set based on the estimated amount of effort involved by Daycos. With the technological advances we have been able to achieve, we are pleased to inform you that our DOS follow-up fee will be decreased from the current rate of $20.00 per invoice to $5.00 per invoice for all DOS invoices generated after February 1, 2009. For our customers that are currently using this service, you will find the rate change noted on the statement you receive for your February 2009 services.
