Newest Update to the Fuel Surcharge
Late last week, SDDC posted the newest update to the Fuel Surcharge policy on the “What’s New” section of their website. While this update will benefit the industry carriers for a small span of time, it is still short of addressing the biggest concern that the industry has had with the new policy. It is our understanding that there are still ongoing attempts with SDDC to rectify the remaining issue that industry sees with the new policy, namely the issue of the applicable fuel surcharge on shipments delivering from destination SIT.
In light of the recent update, we have been asked by several of our billing customers how we will handle the billings that were affected that have already been handled by our office. We understand the strain this can put on your companies and will work with you to rebill these shipments that are affected. However, due to the ongoing discussion we ask for your patience while we wait for the final determination on this issue before we decide our course of action on how we will proceed with handling these rebills.
We will keep you updated on any new information we receive regarding this subject.
