Welcoming the 189th Home

At Daycos, we had the honor of being one of the first businesses to welcome home the 189th Transportation Company from Iraq on Saturday, October 28th. Since we are located on the east side of the viaduct as people enter Norfolk, we felt it was our duty to give the troops a proper welcome home, so as they came over the hill we were waiting. Daycos employees tied yellow ribbons to business signs, street signs, trees, and wherever else we could find a spot. Clusters of red, white, and blue balloons aligned railings on both sides of the viaduct. As the parade of troops entered town, yellow balloons were released and decorated the skies and as our heroes drove by a banner was held, simply saying…”Welcome Home.” It was an incredible site.

Many people brought their families and had the privilege of being able to teach their young ones of the bravery these men and women have displayed to be called heroes and the opportunity to describe to them the meaning of freedom.

Daycos would like to honor and salute all of the military personnel who continue to put their lives on the line for our freedom. Thank you.
