Rebilling Bunker/Security/War Surcharges
As we continue to work through the issues brought about by the SDDC email clarifying their interpretaion of the Bunker, Security, and War surcharges, we have been getting a lot of questions about rebilling items that were previously denied in error. We had been waiting for clarification about the effective date of their email, and having heard back that there really was no effective date, we have started rebilling incorrectly denied items. Here are our procedures moving forward:
- Bunker Surcharge: We have been rebilling all of these that were denied, and have already rebilled over 500 invoices.
- Security Charge: We had been waiting to confirm that the COF item code was functioning in CWA, and now that we have confirmed that it is, we are starting to rebill those items as well.
- War Charge: We will only rebill denied war risk charges if they fall in the areas specificied in the SDDC email.
- All Surharges on Codes 5, J, & T: We will not be rebilling any surcharges on these items, unless SDDC reverses its position that they are not allowable.
